Jolyn Yeo

Senior Associate

Jolyn’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of commercial disputes, criminal litigation and family law.

Her litigation and advisory experience includes representing companies and individuals in contractual and tortious claims, shareholder disputes, debt recovery and insolvency-related matters, white and blue-collar crimes, and contentious and non-contentious divorce.

Jolyn is also a volunteer with the Law Society Pro Bono Services’ Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS), where she finds meaning and purpose in providing legal representation for those who are unable to afford the same and find themselves vulnerable, overwhelmed or inarticulate in the criminal justice system.

Experience

Represented a Singapore subsidiary of a food and beverage conglomerate in SIAC arbitration against an Iranian entity for the wrongful termination of a distribution agreement.

Acted for the majority shareholders to resist a High Court claim for minority oppression and breach of fiduciary duties.

Resisted a claim in the High Court brought by the liquidators of an electrical engineering company for breach of directors’ duties.

Acted for the surviving joint owner of two properties against the estate’s claim for beneficial interest in the properties based on resulting trust and proprietary estoppel.

Acted for an environmental engineering company in successfully resisting an application in the High Court to set aside a judgment.

Assisted in an outrage of modesty trial, which also involved a related charge for outrage of modesty that was eventually discharged (amounting to an acquittal) after the commencement of the CCDC process.

Assisted in an urgent application under Section 14 of the Guardianship of Infants Act for the return of custody of children.
